In poker, the goal of every player is to make the best five-card poker hand. In hold'em there are seven cards exposed at the end of the hand – two hidden HOLE CARDS and five commonly shared FLOP CARDS. You should try to create the best five cards poker hand possible. The ranking of hands is the same in Duplicate Poker as in regular poker.

Royal Flush – The best possible poker hand – five cards each of the same suit A-K-Q-J-10.

Straight Flush – Five cards of the same suit in consecutive order – for example, 9-8-7-6-5 all diamonds.

Four-of-a-Kind – Four cards of the same rank and any other card – for example, 7-7-7-7-3.

Full House – Three cards of the same rank and two cards of the same rank – for example, J-J-J-3-3 (Jacks Full of Threes).

Flush – Five cards of the same suit – for example, J-7-5-3-2 all diamonds (Diamond Flush).

Straight – Five cards in consecutive order – for example, 7-6-5-4-3 of different suits (Seven-High Straight)

Three-of-a-Kind – Three cards of the same rank and two any other cards – for example, 10-10-10-7-A (Three Tens).

Two Pair – Two pairs which include cards of the same rank with any fifth card – for example, 8-8-6-6-K (Eights Over Sixes).

One Pair – Two cards of the same rank with any three other cards – for example, A-A-9-5-2 (Pair of Aces).

High Card – No cards paired in the hand, in which the highest card plays – for example, K-Q-9-5-2 (King High)

Once you memorize the ranking of hands, you have learned the basics of how to play poker. Playing poker online is just as easy.
